"New York Lullaby" to zaprojektowany i wykonany przez Karola Murlaka zestaw 4 poduszek utrwalających dźwiękowy pejzaż metropolii. Obiekty o wymiarach 20 x 20 cm zostały wykonane z tkaniny, posiadają zamki i głośniki z czujnikiem nacisku. Pamiątka odtwarza odgłosy towarzyszące mieszkańcom i przyjezdnym: syreny karetek, klaksony aut, odgłosy metra, alarmy - dźwięki tak uciążliwe jak charakterystyczne. Cykl został zamówiony przez kuratorów wystawy zbiorowej „NYC x DESIGN x Souvenir” zorganizowanej w kompleksie Hudson Yards w ramach jednego z najważniejszych festiwali wzornictwa "NYC x DESIGN".
Abstract EN
"New York Lullaby" is a set of 4 pillows designed and made by Karol Murlak, capturing the soundscape of the metropolis. The 20 x 20 cm objects are made of fabric, have locks and speakers with a pressure sensor. The souvenir plays sounds that accompany residents and visitors: ambulance sirens, car horns, subway sounds, alarms - sounds as annoying as they are characteristic. The series was commissioned by the curators of the collective exhibition "NYC x DESIGN x Souvenir" organized in the Hudson Yards complex as part of one of the most important design festivals "NYC x DESIGN".
