"Kolos / Colossus Yellow" Arkadiusza Szweda, jest wynikiem eksperymentów autora z materiałem, które polegały na modelowaniu przy użyciu elastycznych materiałów i piłek o różnych średnicach, tworzących przypadkowe kształty. Rzeźba została wykonana z porcelany (2024), w technice odlewu z formy gipsowej w temperaturze 1230 st. C. Rzeźba została zgłoszona i wybrana do wystawy konkursowej I. edycji Międzynarodowego Triennale Rzeźby Ceramicznej (MTRC). Wystawa została zlokalizowana w budynku Wydziału Rzeźby ASP w Warszawie. Wydarzenie, którego organizatorami są Stowarzyszenie Międzynarodowego Triennale Rzeźby Ceramicznej oraz Akademia Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie, jest jedynym tego typu wydarzeniem w Polsce z obszaru rzeźby ceramicznej. Praca Szweda została wybrana do grona 52. artystów i artystek, z łącznej liczby 678. wszystkich zgłoszeń. Funkcję kuratorek wystawy pełniły dr Barbara Banaś z Muzeum Narodowego we Wrocławiu oraz dr Bożena Kostuch z Muzeum Narodowego w Krakowie.
Abstract EN
Arkadiusz Szwed's "Kolos / Colossus Yellow" is the result of the artist's experiments with material, which involved modeling using flexible materials and balls of various diameters, creating random shapes. The sculpture was made of porcelain (2024), using the technique of casting from a plaster mold at 1230 degrees Celsius. The sculpture was submitted and selected for the competition exhibition of the 1st International Ceramic Sculpture Triennial (MTRC). The exhibition was located in the Faculty of Sculpture building of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The event, organized by the International Ceramic Sculpture Triennial Association and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, is the only event of its kind in Poland in the field of ceramic sculpture. Szwed's work was selected among 52 artists, out of a total of 678 submissions. The exhibition was curated by Barbara Banaś from the National Museum in Wrocław and Bożena Kostuch from the National Museum in Kraków.
