Instalacja "BhA" to efekt współpracy dr Justyny Górowskiej z dr Thomasem Hainisem z Imperial College London, w ramach rezydencji artystycznej będącej częścią międzynarodowego programu atrystyczno-badawczego "Studiotopia 2". Projekt miał na celu zalezienie bardziej ekologicznych metody przechowywania danych i polegał na transferze Archiwum Błękitnej Humanistyki (Blue Humanities Archive) do kodu DNA. Blue Humanities Archive łączy sztukę cyfrową, humanistykę środowiskową i nowe ekotechnologie, aby wspierać ochronę malejącej bioróżnorodności wód słonych i słodkich. Organizatorem wydarzenia "Studiotopia 2" jest Ars Electronica w Linzu, jedno z najbardziej renomowanych na świecie centrów sztuki nowych mediów. Górowska została wybrana do II edycji programu w drodze otwartego naboru dla młodych artystów. Projekt jest realizowany we współpracy z 11 instytucjami kultury i nauki z całej Europy, m.in. Ars Electronica (Austria), BOZAR (Belgia), CCA Łaźnia (Polska), Gluon (Belgia), Kersnikova (Słowenia).
Abstract EN
The "BhA" installation is the result of a collaboration between Dr. Justyna Górowska and Dr. Thomas Hainis from Imperial College London, as part of an artist-in-residence program that is part of the international art and research program "Studiotopia 2." The project aimed to find more ecological methods of data storage and involved transferring the Blue Humanities Archive into DNA code. The Blue Humanities Archive combines digital art, environmental humanities, and new ecotechnologies to support the protection of declining biodiversity in salt and freshwater. The "Studiotopia 2" event is organized by Ars Electronica in Linz, one of the world's most renowned centers for new media art. Górowska was selected for the second edition of the program through an open call for young artists. The project is carried out in collaboration with 11 cultural and scientific institutions from across Europe, including: Ars Electronica (Austria), BOZAR (Belgium), CCA Łaźnia (Poland), Gluon (Belgium), Kersnikova (Slovenia).
