Homo saltatrix. Artystki baletu na rynku pracy to pierwsza w Polsce publikacja przedstawiająca wnikliwą analizę sytuacji zawodowej kobiet w środowisku baletowym. Autorka podczas pracy nad książką wykorzystała swoją wiedzę z zakresu ekonomiki kultury, nauk społecznych, studiów nad tańcem i teorii feministycznej, aby jak najdokładniej opisać codzienność artystek baletu w Polsce: od systemu edukacji, przez politykę repertuarową, warunki zatrudnienia, zarobki, awanse i macierzyństwo, po sposoby radzenia sobie w zawodzie „ciałozależnym”. Choć balet kojarzy się z kobiecą dominacją na scenie, to w sferze twórczej i zarządczej – co dokładnie opisuje Autorka – nadal dominują męska władza i patriarchalna narracja. Homo saltatrix... to książka o pasji i poświęceniu, ale też o strukturach, które ograniczają sprawczość kobiet w sztuce. Po publikację mogą sięgnąć osoby badające taniec i sztukę, artyści, artystki, twórczynie i twórcy oraz wszyscy ci, którzy chcą lepiej zrozumieć, co naprawdę kryje się za obrazem „tańczących łabędzic".
Abstract EN
Homo saltatrix. Artystki baletu na rynku pracy (Homo saltatrix. Female ballet dancers in the labour market) is the first publication in Poland to present an in-depth analysis of the professional situation of women in the ballet community. While working on the book, the author drew on her knowledge of cultural economics, social sciences, dance studies and feminist theory to describe as accurately as possible the everyday life of ballet dancers in Poland: from the education system, through repertoire policy, employment conditions, earnings, promotions and motherhood, to ways of coping in a ‘body-dependent’ profession. Although ballet is associated with female dominance on stage, in the creative and managerial spheres – as the author describes in detail – male power and patriarchal narratives still prevail. Homo saltatrix... is a book about passion and dedication, but also about the structures that limit women's agency in the arts. The publication is aimed at those who study dance and art, artists, creators and all those who want to better understand what really lies behind the image of ‘dancing swans’ .
