Wazon autorstwa Arkadiusza Szweda "BUMPS 2.0" to obiekt ceramiczny, powstały w wyniku eksperymentu z nową, autorską techniką odlewania porcelany. Technika polega na nałożeniu warstwy elastycznego materiału na wykonany wcześniej prosty model gipsowy, pod którą wsuwane są plastikowe kulki, dające swobodę formowania kształtu naczynia. Tak przygotowany model podlega kolejnym procesom odlewniczym, a efekty pracy są zupełnie przypadkowe. Praca została zaprezentowana na wystawie "TRANSFORMACJE. Nowoczesność w III RP", będącej częścią cyklu "4 x nowoczesność", realizowanego w Muzeum Narodowym w Krakowie. Wystawa prezentuje fenomen rewizji idei nowoczesności i jej tytułowej transformacji po 1989 roku. Zespół kuratorski tworzyli: prof. dr hab. Czesława Frejlich, Alicja Kilijańska, Joanna Regina Kowalska, Agata Małodobry, prof. dr hab. Andrzej Szczerski, dr Katarzyna Uchowicz. Realizacja wystawy została dofinansowana ze środków Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego.
Abstract EN
Arkadiusz Szwed's vase, "BUMPS 2.0," is a ceramic object created through experimentation with a new, original porcelain casting technique. The technique involves applying a layer of flexible material to a previously prepared simple plaster model, under which plastic beads are inserted, allowing the vessel's shape to be freely formed. The prepared model undergoes subsequent casting processes, and the effects are entirely random. The work was presented at the exhibition "TRANSFORMATIONS. Modernity in the Third Polish Republic," part of the "4 x Modernity" series at the National Museum in Krakow. The exhibition showcases the phenomenon of the revision of the idea of modernity and its titular transformation after 1989. The curatorial team included: Prof. Czesława Frejlich, Alicja Kilijańska, Joanna Regina Kowalska, Agata Małodobry, Prof. Andrzej Szczerski, and Dr. Katarzyna Uchowicz. The exhibition was co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
