dc.abstract.enThe purpose of the article was an attempt to assess the level of parental stress in a group of parents of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), also with regard to the first months after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland. Assuming that the pandemic was an additional factor that required parents to adapt to this new and difficult situation, the aim was to answer the question of the impact of the pandemic on the situation of these parents, including the parental stress they experienced and their quality of life. The study covered the period just before and the first few months of the pandemic, providing insight into the situation of parents of children with ASD during this period, and examined the impact of the pandemic on their quality of life. The hypothesis of higher stress levels regarding some aspects of parenting a child with autism among caregivers interviewed after the pandemic was confirmed. The hypothesis that the quality of life of the study group deteriorated after the onset of the pandemic was not confirmed. Contrary to expectations, they obtained results indicating a higher quality of life in some aspects compared to parents surveyed before the pandemic. The results show interesting correlations between the measured variables and contribute to the discussion about the possible impact of the pandemic on the situation of parents of children with autism.
dc.abstract.plCelem artykułu była próba oceny poziomu stresu rodzicielskiego w grupie rodziców dzieci z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu z uwzględnieniem pierwszych miesięcy po wystąpieniu pandemii COVID-19 w Polsce. Poszukiwano odpowiedzi na pytania doty czące wpływu pandemii na sytuację tych rodziców, w tym na doświadczany stres i jakość życia, oczekując, że był to dodatkowy czynnik wymagający od rodziców dostosowania się do tej nowej, trudnej sytuacji. W tym celu przebadano 89 rodziców dzieci z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu, korzystając z kwestionariuszy do oceny poziomu stresu rodziciel skiego oraz jakości życia. Prezentowane badanie objęło okres tuż przed wystąpieniem pandemii oraz jej pierwsze miesiące. Pozwoliło to na wgląd w sytuację rodziców dzieci z ASD w tym okresie i analizę wpływu pandemii na jakość ich życia. Uzyskano potwier dzenie hipotezy o wyższym poziomie stresu dotyczącego niektórych aspektów rodziciel stwa wobec dziecka z autyzmem u opiekunów badanych po wybuchu pandemii. Nie uzy skano natomiast potwierdzenia hipotezy o istotnym pogorszeniu jakości życia tej grupy rodziców. Natomiast wbrew oczekiwaniom uzyskali oni wyniki wskazujące na wyższą jakość życia w niektórych aspektach w porównaniu do rodziców badanych przed pande mią. Wyniki ukazują interesujące zależności mierzonych zmiennych i wnoszą wkład do dyskusji o potencjalnych skutkach pandemii na sytuację rodziców dzieci z autyzmem.
