dc.abstract.enor young audiences – especially children – teaching the history of the Holocaust requires appropriate sensitivity. It undoubtedly needs to take into account the predisposition and emo-tional capacity of the audience. Inviting them into a difficult past and presenting them with a narrative dedicated to the deaths and atroci-ties of war must take into account the responsi-bility of those who prepare such messages. This postulate is valid both in memorials created in authentic sites of commemoration (e.g. on the sites of former concentration or extermination camps) and in museums created in places that were not directly marked by the trauma of the Second World War. They usually aim to entice visitors not only to gain insights into history and human nature, but also into themselves. They encourage critical thinking and promote the posing of questions relating to moral categories. They are not only engaged in history education, but also aspire to become attitude developers. The authors of exhibitions on the history of the Holocaust use a variety of narrative and aes-thetic solutions. The authors of the text ask how museums documenting the history of the Holo-caust and at the same time commemorating its victims and heroes present content depicting traumatic experiences and drastic scenes to their young audiences in a strongly emotionally burdened manner. It is as much about the chil-dren’s perceptual abilities.
dc.abstract.plW przypadku młodych odbiorców – szczególnie dzieci – nauczanie historii Holokaustu wymaga odpowiedniej wrażliwości. Potrzebuje niewątpliwie uwzględnienia predyspozycji i możliwości emocjonalnych odbiorców. Zaproszenie ich do trudnej przeszłości oraz prezentowanie im narracji poświęconej śmierci i okrucieństwu wojny musi uwzględniać odpowiedzialność, jaka ciąży na tych, którzy przygotowują tego rodzaju przekazy. Postulat ten jest aktualny zarówno w miejscach pamięci utworzonych w autentycznych przestrzeniach upamiętnienia (np. na terenie dawnych obozów koncentracyjnych czy obozów zagłady), jak i w placówkach muzealnych stworzonych w przestrzeniach, które nie były wprost naznaczone traumą drugiej wojny światowej. Zwykle stawiają sobie one za cel nakłonienie zwiedzających nie tylko do wglądu w historię i w ludzką naturę, ale też w samych siebie. Namawiają do krytycznego myślenia i sprzyjają stawianiu pytań odnoszących się do kategorii moralnych. Zajmują się nie tylko edukacją historyczną, ale też aspirują do roli podmiotów kształtujących postawy. Twórcy wystaw poświęconych historii Zagłady wykorzystują rozmaite rozwiązania narracyjne i estetyczne. Autorzy tekstu pytają, w jaki sposób placówki muzealne dokumentujące historię Holokaustu, a zarazem upamiętniające jego ofiary i bohaterów, powinny prezentować treści obrazujące traumatyczne doświadczenia i drastyczne sceny, w mocny sposób obciążające emocjonalnie młodych odbiorców. Istotą analizy są tutaj więc ich możliwości percepcyjne.
